Lithia Springs, GA – Throughout the year, FSI always finds ways to support charitable organizations and events, and this month is a no brainer for who and what to support. October is known for Breast Cancer Awareness and this year FSI participated in the 2023 Komen Georgia More Than Pink Walk on October 21st. The walk began at 8a until 12p and started at the Lenox Square Mall.
Susan G. Komen advocates for patients, driving research breakthroughs, improving access to high-quality care, offering direct patient support and empowering people with trustworthy information. FSI believes in participating in philanthropic events and has been attending the Komen Walk since 2009. The goal for the walk was set at $750,000 and the organization topped that with a whopping $764,745!
Tara Rhoden, Senior Financial Analyst stated, “I feel proud to know that I work for a company that sees the importance of supporting such causes, and to know that I work with leaders who are willing to contribute their time and money to support these meaningful programs is a great testament to FSI’s culture.” Currently, two employees are battling this disease, and many wanted to show their support by being present and walking it out, 2.5 miles to be exact. Nicole Sessum, CSR, wanted to particpate to help support and ecourage those who have, battling, and survived breast cancer. “The walk was an eye opener for me as to how many women and families are touched by this,” Sessum said.
